ARIA Lab Architectures for Reliable Image Analysis

Peter H.N. de With, PhD is a renowned expert in video coding, image and video analysis, and digital system architectures. He studied Electrical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and earned his PhD from Delft University of Technology in 1992. Over his career he has worked in research and industry, including roles at Philips Research and as a full professor at the University of Mannheim (Germany), before returning to TU/e where he has been a Full Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, leading the Video Coding and Architectures group. His research spans foundational algorithms in video processing and real-time analysis, with over 700 scientific publications and multiple prestigious awards. He is a Life Fellow of the IEEE and a member of the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities, and his work has had impact across healthcare, safety, and advanced multimedia systems.
